While working as an accounting department employee for the Allegheny Controller's office, 25-year-old Cam Zmenkowski, sent "sexually explicit messages and sexual assaults occurred over the past several months," county officials stated in a release on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023.
Allegheny County Police detectives and Indiana Township Police served a sealed search warrant at the residence of Zmenkowski, located in the 4000 block of Huron Court in Indiana Township earlier that morning.
The boy told the police in an interview that he was pursued by Zmenkowski after the pair met on Snapchat when he was in 8th grade, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
The pair met in person and Zmenkowski touch his genitals over his clothing, squeezed him, and asked for oral sex on three separate occasions, according to his statement cited in court documents.
He has been charged with indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, criminal solicitation- involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, indecent exposure, corruption of a minor, and dissemination to a minor, according to his court docket.
He had four years of experience in accounting when he started in the Allegheny Controller's office in August. "I prepare financial reports and statements while managing a range of finance-related tasks. I also analyse financial information to enable informed decision-making for the government," he wrote on his LinkedIn.
He was fired on Tuesday, Feb. 14, according to the office.
His preliminary hearing has been set before Magisterial District Judge Matthew V. Rudzki on Feb. 22 at 10 a.m., according to his court docket.
